04.2008: my website will be under construction. check back soon for updates or go to my blog [uber.com/katiemalia] for a light in the attic of me. the feather duster is out and spring cleaning allergy season is here.

03.2008: what a difference four months makes…two thousand eighty hundred and eighty eight little hours…believe it, i’ve clocked nearly three thousand hours of time since i’ve last updated my site, and i am proud to say every second was worth it. over the past three thousand hours, i saw mexico, i saw france, i saw a life-size rick owens with no underpants. i adopted the title of choreographer, changed my personal opinion about the french, and officially accepted the title to be the future mrs mcpherson. amen to that!

recent jobs include: Heineken commercial directed by Todd Haynes, Jell-O commercial choreographed by Jeri Slaughter and directed by Matthew Rolston, Target print campaign danced and choreographed by Katie Malia [yours truly] and photographed by Jeff Minton, Puma print campaign danced and choreographed by yours truly and photographed by Marc Lecureuil, Snowflake feature film directed by The Wayans Brothers choreographed by Dave Scott, Muscles “Lake” music video directed by Smuggler director Jaron Albertin, and World of Dance Tour choreographed by Saleemah Knight. i also began a blog! check out uber.com/katiemalia to keep up with the jones’. cheers to Wieden + Kennedy, Yvonne and Emilie, and the moustached genius who invented the dirty little french sandwich, grecque-frites. c’est sauvage!

11.2007: who needs halloween when there’s Honeyshed? after two months of filming new episodes for the new online network Honeyshed, i have been Eazy-E twice (sans geri-curl and with), count chocula, a ski-masked bandit fit with gleaming golden grill, a too hot to trot mariachi member, a moustached man, and a deep knee bending babe in hot wheels high tops—the colour palette alone would bring sir george clinton to his knees. and did i mention they are paying me to do this? hats off to the brilliance that is Brian Beletic, and everyone warming their worn hands under the shed. they’re making the best rum cannonball in town. check us at Honeyshed.com. we’re on the air chief.
i also recently clocked in with a Target commercial choreographed by Michael Rooney featuring John Legend, an Adidas shoot, Esprit campaign, Apple campaign, 365 Plays/Days at the fantastic Theatre of Note in Hollywood, the cabaret show at El Cid, and an episode of Mad TV. viewers can watch me uh, shake it with the first lady and mr. obama bin laden on Fox.. who knew the dems were secret fly girls at heart? oh hillary, whew, that girl…

08.2007: i’ve officially become a member of the gang: no, not the chain gang special or pluto bandit gang—there are no emblem jackets to be worn or secret society meetings to be sworn. i’ve officially been accepted as a member of The Actors Gang Theatre. located in downtown Culver City, The Actors Gang is well, pretty damn cool. for the past three weeks, artistic director Tim Robbins, held an intensive workshop, and the Ivy Substation became my central creative space, playground, and home: growing pains under hot lights and punishments in the peanut gallery, i’ve officially been hazed. the Gang is taking parental control; i am the middle child, and big brother is certaintly watching. current productions include Gulliver’s Travels and Titus the Clownicus. go to theactorsgang.com. lilliputians unite!! recent jobs include, Jupiter Images shoot, and David Guetta video soon to be aired throughout Europe. also, the Honeyshed network with director Brian Beletic is moving forward [more info to follow], and my cabaret performance with the Hollywood Pin Up Girls at El Cid in Silverlake continues to take flight. next performance is the 16th and 19th of august in conjunction with Sunset Junction. lace, feathers, and the circus, yee haw!
